The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) released an update on the State Route 89A Viewpoint Drive Traffic Interchange and SR 69 Construction Projects for the week of August 15th on a new bridge.
The north and southbound lanes on Viewpoint Drive at the junction of SR 89A will be closed from 8 P.M. Wednesday, August 17th until 5 A.M. on Thursday, August 18th. A detour around the construction zone will be marked by crews.
Motorists driving north on Viewpoint Drive will travel east on SR 89A to the paved crossover, make a u-turn, and access northbound Viewpoint Drive from westbound SR 89A. Southbound traffic on Viewpoint Drive will travel west on SR 89A to Glassford Hill Road and travel under the traffic interchange to access eastbound SR 89A and southbound Viewpoint Drive. The construction detour will be clearly marked by temporary barricades and signage. ADOT advises drivers to allow additional time to reach your destination.
The full closure on Viewpoint Drive will then be reduced to one lane in each direction from Thursday, August 18th at 8 P.M until Friday, August 19th at 5 A.M. for continuing work on the bridge. Drivers can expect brief delays.
