Police Beat: Nov. 5 – Nov. 11


Nov. 11

At 12:58 a.m., staff at Tinsley Hall reported the odor of marijuana.

Officers were dispatched and a student was deferred for use of marijuana and possession of weapons. The weapons were brought to Coconino County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) for safekeeping and the student faces penalties for use.


At 5:36 p.m., Reilly Hall staff called to report the odor of marijuana emitted from several students as they entered a dorm room.

When officers arrived, evidence was not found.


Nov. 10

At 12:48 a.m., Reilly Hall staff called to request medical assistance for a student who had passed out in the dorm’s lobby restroom.

The subject was intoxicated and was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center (FMC). The subject faces a citation for minor in consumption (MIC).


At 10:21 p.m., staff from Sechrist Hall requested medical assistance for a student who had alcohol poising.

The student was transported by  Guardian Medical Transport (GMT) to FMC and released the next day; the subject faces a MIC citation.


At 10:35 p.m., while officers were present at Sechrist Hall, they reported several other students were intoxicated.

The students were released and and cited for MIC.


Nov. 9

At 10:39 a.m., an employee of the NAU Postal Services called to report a suspicious package with the odor of marijuana.

The owner of the package was contacted later that day and faces further investigation.


At 11:12 a.m., staff at North Country Community Center reported a sexual assault.

The student victim did not file a police report and insisted on remaining anonymous.


Nov. 8

At 12:55 a.m., a student from Wilson Hall called to report he had been threatened by his roommate.

Officers arrived and the two were separated for the night.


At 1:07 a.m., Gateway staff report several students between Allen Hall and Gateway possibly smoking marijuana.

An officer was dispatched and the subjects were gone upon arrival.


At 11:53 p.m.,  staff from McConnell Hall reported the odor of marijuana present in the dorms.

Upon arrival the officer’s, no subjects could be identified.


Nov. 7

At 5:44 p.m., a subject called requesting medical assistance at McConnell Hall for her son who was suffering from a severe headache.

The student was transported to FMC.


Nov. 6

At 7:57 a.m., a student called to report his bike had been stolen from the area of Taylor Hall.

All leads have been exhausted.


At 2:21 p.m., a female student fainted in the du Bois Center.

GMT was dispatched and the student was transported to FMC.


Nov. 5

At 10:13 a.m., Flagstaff Fire Department (FPD) and Guardian Medical Transport (GMT) was dispatched by staff at Campus Health Services.

The student was transported to FMC for a rapid heart rate.


At 4:11 p.m., an on-campus employee called to report two students engaging in sexual activities in a vehicle located in Lot 62B.

The officers confirmed that the subjects were engaging in consensual sexual activity and were advised to move to a more appropriate location. No report was taken, but the subjects will be fined for the misdemeanor.
