Commencement times changed due to expected snow
Changes have been made to Northern Arizona University’s (NAU) commencement ceremonies due to a snowstorm anticipated to arrive on the night of Dec. 13.
The 9 a.m. ceremony on Dec. 14 has been moved to 10 a.m. and will include the College of Arts & Letters; College of Engineering, Forestry and Natural Sciences; College of Health and Human Services; W.A. Franke College of Business and University College.
The ceremonies scheduled for 1 and 5 p.m. will be combined and moved to 3 p.m. on Dec. 14. This ceremony will include the College of Education, the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Extended Campuses and all graduate students.
“Out of consideration for everyone’s travel plans, we feel that it’s important to keep commencement on Friday,” said NAU President John Haeger in a NAU News press release. “At the same time, we urge all those who are traveling, especially by car, to check the forecast updates and be as safe as possible.”
Both ceremonies will still be held in the Walkup Skydome.
